The team at Primary Care Wirral (PCW) wants to say huge thank you for the incredible response to our Covid-19 vaccine volunteer drive.
In partnership with Wirral Council and Community Action Wirral, PCW has been working to recruit volunteers from the local community to support our clinical teams in delivering the vaccine across Wirral.
The response and uptake of support from local residents has been incredible, with over 400 people offering their time to help out in any way possible at vaccination centres.
Volunteer roles have included providing logistical support at vaccination sites, involving stewarding, signposting patients to relevant areas and distributing information on post-vaccine care.
The willing generosity of our neighbours has played a key role in the last 12 months, from PPE donations to supporting vulnerable local people, and now volunteering their time and energy on the front line in the early weeks of the vaccine roll out.
PCW wishes to express their gratitude for each and every volunteer that has played their part in ensuring the rapid vaccine delivery, and their continuing support, and that of the wider community, remains vital in our efforts to bring the Covid-19 pandemic under control in the months ahead.
Volunteer applications are temporarily suspended for vaccine sites, due to the large number of original applicants, but they will be reactivated again if the centres require future support.
THANK YOU!
