We hold a NHS Health Checks contract on behalf of our member practices.
PCW surgeries regularly invite 40-74 year olds for health check-ups to identify early signs of illness and lower the potential of developing high-risk conditions.
For hard-to-reach groups, we have developed an outreach strategy to attract patients, via community groups, including Tranmere Rovers, A Better Life Wirral and Wirral Ways to Recovery.

We provide 179 hours a week of GP appointments available to all Wirral registered patients.
PCW member practices have priority in the delivery of this service. The federation only covers for the extended working hours that surgeries cannot supply themselves.
PCW runs extended hours appointments through Wirral Docs GP locums at Arrowe Park Walk in Centre.
The service operates 6.30pm-8pm Monday to Friday, and 8am-8pm during weekends. Patients can book through their own practice.

As part of the system approach to streaming, we provide a GP to direct patients who do not need to be in A&E to a more appropriate service.
