Who should attend?

This Dementia Awareness Course is for staff working for PCW member practices, looking to improve or refresh their understanding of Dementia.

What will I learn?

This Dementia Awareness Training, delivered by an Associate Dementia Trainer from Alzheimer’s Society, will help you refresh your current knowledge on Dementia with a focus on how the condition affects individuals at physiological and psychological levels.

The course will provide you with a further understanding on how Dementia affects patients’ brains and the way they relate to their environment.

You will also learn effective communication techniques to improve care and support for patients with Dementia.

Around 850,000 people in the UK and nearly 680,000 in England have Dementia.

Dementia is a key priority for NHS England and the Government.

General Practice staff play a key role in ensuring people with dementia receive the adequate care.

This course will help GP staff access up to date training in this area, improving care and support for patients with Dementia.
