Who should attend?

This is a Wirral Metropolitan FREE course for all staff working in any of PCW’s member practices.

The Education and Training Level 3 Award is an ideal qualification for anyone who currently delivers or plans to deliver internal training within their practices.

The course is also for those interested in pursuing a career in professional training, as it allows students to progress to further academic programmes, including Certificate in Education or Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE).

No previous experience of teaching or training is required from students.

* The regular cost of this course is £400. However PCW practices staff are entitled to a full concession with the only commitment of providing 4 training sessions for our federation.

What will I learn?

This course will provide you with the necessary knowledge, confidence and professional requirements to teach in the post 16 education sector.

When successfully completed you will become a qualified trainer able to work in the private training industry or as a teacher in further education.

The Education and Training Level 3 Award (former PTLLS) is an industry recognised qualification which certifies individuals are ready to teach at a nationally accredited standard.

Course Content

This qualification comprises of the following units, making up a total of 12 credits:

  • Unit 301 Understanding roles, responsibilities and relationships in education and training – 3 credits
  • Unit 302 Understanding and using inclusive teaching and learning approaches in education and training – 6 credits
  • Unit 305 Understanding assessment in education and training – 3 credits

Assessment

Study will be through a combination of class attendance, self study and use of the Virtual Learning Environment (VLE)
